OUR ACTIVITIES
In March 2013, Tin Ohnmar Tun took over the Chairmanship of the
ASEAN Intellectual Property Association and will be the president of
the association from 2013 to 2015.
As the President of ASEAN Intellectual Property Association and as a
well-known lawyer in Myanmar, Tin Ohnmar Tun has been collaborating
closely with the Myanmar’s Ministry of Science and Technology in
drafting the Intellectual Property Laws. The law is to be enacted in
2014.
Starting
February 10, 2014, Tin Ohnmar Tun and The Law Chambers will be organizing a
four-week-long, “The Intellectual Property Foundation Course,” in Mandalay,
Myanmar. The course will be taught by Dr. Manish Arora of Amity Law School.
The Law
Chambers is also facilitating a three month exchange program with foreign law
firms for those aspiring young lawyers who wish to gain experience practicing
law abroad. They currently have one lawyer from the United Kingdom who is
interning with us through the program.
Tin Ohnmar Tun also attended Inter-Pacific Bar Association’s annual
conference in Seoul, South Korea. It was held on 17th – 20th April
2013.
In September of 2013, Tin Ohnmar Tun and Thura Thaung of Tin Ohnmar
Tun and The Law Chambers attended the Protection and Indemnity
conference held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The conference was held
at the R.A.I Convention Center from 22nd- 24th, and the banquet was
held at Okura Hotel on those same dates. The theme of the conference
is “Training the Next Generation.”
After attending the P & I conference in Amsterdam, Ms. Tin Ohnmar
Tun travelled to Sorrento, Italy to attend FICPI Conference as the
President of the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association. The FICPI
Conference was held at Hilton Sorrento Palace.
On November 29th, 2013, Tin Ohnmar Tun and the Law Chambers welcomed
AHOA Law Firm the delegation of Vietnamese and Myanmar businessmen
and hosted the Business to Business meeting at the Park Royal Hotel.
They also hosted a high tea and barbecue party on November 30th at
The Safire Longue at the Alfa Hotel.
